COVID-19 - Update from the Board (OMHA, OWHA)
Submitted By Exec Posting on Thursday, April 9, 2020
Members of the Board met “online” earlier this week to review the status of the 2019-2020 hockey season and to begin planning for 2020-2021.   Please continue to do your part to support our return to the rink. It is a team effort but we thank all individual members of our association that are going above and beyond to keep us healthy and safe!

All municipal-owned facilities including the Ilderton Community Centre remain closed and we are officially announcing the cancellation of our Annual Awards Banquet scheduled for Sunday, April 19 2020.   This decision is consistent with the direction of Hockey Canada, OHF, OMHA and OWHA.  We look forward to the opportunity to once again recognize and celebrate our individual and team accomplishments at the end of next season (2020-2021).

The decision has been made to post-pone hosting of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 23 2020.   Hosting of an “in-person” AGM has now become impractical and illegal and we are considering our options including hosting an “on-line” AGM.  This poses a number of significant challenges but may be deemed necessary should current restrictions not be lifted.  Further details concerning the new date and format to allow your participation will be communicated once plans for hosting our AGM have been finalized.

In the interim, our deadline for submission of new business, proposed amendments to our By-Laws or Rules of Operation and/or nomination forms for individuals willing to being elected to serve on the Board of Ilderton Minor Hockey Association has been extended to 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 30th 2020. After this deadline we will finalize the agenda and post all supporting documentation to the web in advance of our AGM.

Our deadline for the online registration of your players to participate in OMHA and OWHA programs will be extended to Friday, May 15 2020.   Online registration will be through the Hockey Canada Registrar (HCR) for OMHA Programs.  Online registration for girls choosing to participate in OWHA Programs will be hosted on our website.  We encourage everyone to register your players in advance of this date as we will be making decisions concerning the number and level of teams that we will support based on this information.

Please do not hesitate to contact a current member of the Board should you have any questions or concerns regarding this update.  Have a great Easter Weekend with your immediate family!
