Dear Parents and Players:
My name is Colin Urquhart, and I will be taking on the responsibility of coaching the 2024/25 U11 B2 team.
We will be having our first tryout on Tuesday, September 17th, in Ilderton at 7:00 pm.
When you come into the arena, please be sure to stop at the table to check in and receive your tryout jersey. After the practice, please be sure that you return the jersey to the front table. All jerseys are assigned both in colour and number and will match the colour and number you had in your original tryout sessions.
A group of non-parents will be in attendance to evaluate the players. This is to provide a fair and impartial assessment of a players total hockey skill and performance.
Having just gone through it ourselves, I know how stressful and demanding tryouts can be for everyone involved. I also understand the disappointment they experience when a player doesn’t achieve something they’ve worked for. The only advice I can give the players is the same advice I gave my son. As long as you tried your hardest you can feel proud of yourself no matter what the result is.
