My name is Randy Hanagan and I will be the U7 Lead Coach for the upcoming season.
Starting this weekend, we will be on the ice every Saturday at 10:00 am and Sunday at 8:00am, both at Ilderton Arena for 50 minute skates. We will have a break in the season with no ice on Saturday December 24th and Sunday December 25th.
I am pleased to announce we have selected our on-ice Coaching staff and Trainers for this year. We have 10 on ice coaches (4 Head Coaches and 6 Assistant Coaches) and 4 Trainers. I have attached a pdf file that lists the names and emails of these volunteers for this season.
For the next three weekends, we will continue utilizing both ice times as “practices”. Once the jerseys and socks arrive towards the end of October, we will divide the players up into four equally skilled teams with each Head Coach assigned a team and we will follow the below plan for each of the ice times:
Saturday Ice Times
- 20 minutes of skill development followed by a 30 minute scrimmage (4 teams, 2 half ice games, 5 on 5)
Sunday Ice Times
- 15 minutes for half and/or full ice skill development followed by 35 minutes of small group work (5 groups divided by skill level)
