International Silver Stick Champs!!
Amazing effort by these kids over the past couple of weeks, culminating in winning International Silver Stick...
The Ilderton Jets Peewee Shamrock Team went into the International Silver Stick against great competition from all around. With 2 very close and competitive games on Friday, they got off to a 2 and 0 start to put themselves into good position heading into the weekend. Playing a very good team from Penetang on Saturday, the boys took it on the chin and lost 4-1. The way it worked out, our boys had to play Penetang Flames in the semis with redemption on their minds. A couple of minor changes were made and the boys came out flying and were able to stymie the Flames with relentless fore checking, winning 3-0.
Off to the Finals against a very good Mitchell team who the boys knew would provide a great challenge, the Mitchell team is well coached and they play a great team game. The Ilderton Peewees came out with one thing on their mind...to compete until they had nothing left...they boys played inspired hockey, the effort and attitude was tremendous and they came away with a 2-0 win.
