Registration Fee's
It has come to our attention some members are concerned with the price of minor hockey this season. The board had originally drafted up a post outlining the cost breakdown of the season however with the number of other pertinent posts that had to go up, this got put on the back burner. Please continue reading for an explanation on how the registration cost are set and how it relates to our expenses this season.
The total registration revenue collect by the IMHA thus far is $109,789.30. This is the amount that the IMHA collected for the first 8 week phase.
Our ice time expense for Phase One will be approximately $92,000.00.
Our OMHA Registration Fee's (includes insurance) for the season is $16,372.80.
We have yet to be invoiced by the OWHA for Registration Fee's however it usually sits in the $14,000 range.
In all, our expenses this season, up to and including the time of this post, is approximately $111,000. This is not including our OWHA Registration Fee's.
We understand some members feel our cost of Registration should be less this season when compared to previous seasons. This is completely understandable considering we are also playing a shorten season. With reduced fundraising, no tryout fees, no gate fees (usually covers slightly more than just Ref Fees), and no Fundraising Contingency Cheques the IMHA has to cover our expenses solely through Registration Fee's.
The second phase of the season is set at $150 (IDP) and $300. This will cover our ice rental (which will increase over Phase 1) and any other expenses that may, and will come up.
Our direction is to will have a reduced registration rate for Phase 3. The actual cost will be sent out closer to the end of Phase 2, once we have a better understanding on the level of play and what cost will be incurred.
To put this in perspective, the cost to the member for each on ice session is $18.75.
