2018/19 PeeWee Tryouts
Greetings Hockey Parents,

Welcome to the 2018/19 PeeWee Rep tryouts! I hope everyone has had a great summer! It’s hard to believe we are already back at the arena for another fun and exciting season of Jets Hockey!

Heading into the tryouts, I have a couple of guidelines for players and parents to help navigate the next couple of busy weeks.

I would like to have players at the arena dressed and ready to go 10 minutes before they are to be on the ice (roughly when the Zamboni starts to flood). At that time members of the evaluation team will come into the change rooms and give instructions to the players as to what they are to do once they hit the ice. Every player will be given at least 3 skates during this tryout (2 skates and an exhibition game).

Each player will be assigned a numbered jersey to use for the tryouts. They will keep this jersey for both their initial skates and one game. At that time, the jersey will be collected. Do not switch jerseys with anyone.

Each player will be responsible for bringing their own water bottle to skates and games. Also, please no electronics, of any kind, in the change rooms.

The evaluation team will consist of members of the IMHA board and members of the community that have no relation to any of the players trying out for this team. During the tryout process, please refrain from interacting with the evaluation committee.

Over the next few weeks check the IMHA website for roster announcements, schedules, and lists of players invited to continue with the tryouts.  This will be my primary mode of communication.

Final roster selections will be made on approximately Thursday September 13th. Those that are not on the final roster will be asked to continue with the AE tryouts.

Being a hockey parent and involved in Ilderton Minor Hockey I know this can be a stressful and anxious time for both players and their parents alike. I ask that both parents and players try to relax and enjoy the beginning of a new hockey season,

Good luck to all and see you at the rink!

Regards
