Player and Parent/Guardian Expectations

In order for a competitive hockey team to be successful, the full support and commitment of coaches, players and parents/guardians is required.

Coaching Philosophy & Goals

Novice rep is entry level to competitive hockey focusing on development of skill. The goal for this season will be skill development. Each practice will focus on skating and skill development (ex. edges, speed, transitions, passing, shooting).  Hockey tactics will be taught and incorporated into practices but the focus will remain on skill development.

Ice time, or playing time, will be fair and as equal as possible.  Lines will be balanced. There will be no players designated for penalty kill or power play units. The best players in all aspects stated above will be selected to the team. Upon selection of the team, coaches will again evaluate players for positional needs and players may be asked to play positions and in situations they are not typically used to playing.  This will also assist in their overall development.

I recognize the importance of family in the sport and the commitment that parents and siblings make toward the team. If you have family holidays planned, enjoy but please keep me informed so I can bring in AP players as needed.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thank You

Coach Chris
