Jets Earn Finalists in St Marys
Congratulations on a Great Tournament!
The Ilderton Lions Novice AE team played very well this weekend finishing second in round robin play with 9 goals for and only 2 goals against. This outstanding effort earned the boys a spot in the Championship Finals on Sunday against the Mitchell Meteors.
The entire Jets team skated well in the finals hustling every shift and playing strong defence while goaltender Colin Ideson made some big saves. The first period ended in a 0-0 draw and the fans were well entertained with some great hockey. The Mitchell Meteors eventually opened the scoring midway through the second period and despite a number of Jets scoring chances Mitchell was able to hang on for a 2-0 win. The Meteors were a very good opponent and deserving Champions who remain undefeated for the season.
The coaches are very proud of how well the boys competed in their first tournament of the year earning Finalist Silver Medals!!
