London Knight's Michael McCarron.......
.....winning the one on one battles and going to the net to be successful. Your game, their game -
it's the same game at any level.“I was kind of struggling that last month,” the 18-year-old said. “Management showed me what to do and I think it really helped me. I need to focus every game and play my style of game and I feel like that (the two goals) could be something (to build on).”
The six-foot-six McCarron has the size and strength to be a dominant force in junior hockey. Sure he has shown a willingness for fisticuffs, but when he reviewed video of his play with the coaching staff, he saw he wasn’t winning enough one-on-one battles.
“That’s why I wasn’t getting points and getting the minutes I wanted,” he said. “I started to watch a lot more film to see where I’m going wrong and the things I need to fix.
“I’m starting to feel a lot better now and the puck finally went in for me.”
On both goals against the Bulls, McCarron went hard to the net and showed a nice touch.
“That’s where I’ve got to live, I guess,” he said. “I’m a power forward and that’s where I have to go to score my goals. Again, by watching tape, going to the net was one of the things I needed to do and I just did it.”
