The season came to a finish with the boys and families
enjoying a get away Easter weekend while staying in Niagara Falls,
and competing in the Lincoln/Beamsville 7th Annual AE Memorial Tournament.
Game #1 on Friday night saw the boys take on a very undisciplined South Muskoka Bears team.
The Bears (fittingly) took 16 penalties overall with 8 of them being Head Contact
with one player being ejected. Final score Jets 4 - Bears 1.
Game #2 Saturday morning was a much different game as the Acton Tanners came to play hockey.
Final score was 2-1 Jets.
The Jets finished first in their division which earned the boys a nice break to enjoy
the Falls and visit some attractions, some being quite scary .... Nightmares anyone????
Game #3, Sunday at noon was a matchup against the 2013 PeeWee Group 4 & 5 OMHA Champions!
The Minto Mad Dogs wore their red OMHA hats proudly but the Jets finished off their season with a 2-1 victory.
The Final game was slated for later Sunday afternoon so the families enjoyed a nice lunch
and rest before gearing up for the last game of the year.
The Jets faced off against the Port Hope Phantoms, who play in the PeeWee AE Group 3 division.
This game was tight checking with the score knotted at 1 going into the 3rd.
The Phantoms scored a late goal and added an empty net insurance marker
to seal the tournament win.
The boys received a wonderful t-shirt for all their efforts! ... :)
Wow, you would think that they could come up with something better ...
...like a nice Niagara Falls souvenir cup, hey Chris?
In the end, a fine finish to a very respectable season.
